About Dr. Piper
Meet Terrence L. Piper, MD
I completed my residency/fellowship at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO . I am an assistant clinical professor at the Washington University Department of Orthopedic Surgery. I also trained with many prominent doctors, both nationally and internationally. These include: Dr. Arthur Steffee in Cleveland, Ohio; Dr Daniel Riew in St. Louis, Missouri; Dr Rudy Bertognoli in Munich, Germany; Dr. Luis Pimenta in San Paolo, Brazil; Dr. Jack O’Brien in London, England; Dr.John Webb in Nottingham, England; and Dr Henry Bohlman, at the Cleveland Clinic, to name a few. I am a former faculty member of AO Spine International Society and have given many lectures and seminars for them. I was director of the spine symposium “Complex surgery for Degenerative Conditions of the Lumbar Spine” at St. Louis University for a ten-year period. I also am a past president of the St. Louis Spine Society. All these positions were comprised of orthopedic and neurologic spine surgeons. I am board certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Board of Spine Surgery.
I have forty-three years of clinical surgical experience and over twenty-nine years of experience reviewing medical malpractice cases, as well as performing IMEs, Workman’s compensation evaluations and disability ratings. However, most of my practice has always been surgical. I have testified both in depositions and the courtroom for both defendant and plaintiff. I will provide expert, unbiased, balanced, fact-based, impartial testimony on cases, suits, and ratings. I will always allow the facts of the case to decide my opinions.
